Some of our May 2012 visitors!!

Wow, over half a year has gone by since my last post. I guess I better give a quick synopsis!

So prior to the trip to Utah and Idaho, we actually had a series of visitors come through, as well as celebrated the arrival of our other nephew Elias on May 3rd.

From May 5th-May 14th, Jennifer cruised into Colorado for a conference and to hang with us, which was such a blast! Here are a few photos from that trip!

Amy and I at the Kitchen Next Door

Sharing a beer- shocking considering I never see Jennifer drink beer, but she was in Boulder after all!

Me and the Gamble Girls!

Dropping Amy off to catch the SkyRide

Jennifer and I on a hike up Mt. Sanitas

And then it started snowing- get excited!

Very unexpected snow! :) Adam was worried we wouldn't make it back down!

Just so Jennifer could experience more snowy May weather, we headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park for some hiking, seeing animals, and picnicking!

Jennifer and I at Bear Lake in RMNP

Picnic time!

Lots of elk at RMNP

And lots of chipmunks!

One of the mornings, we made vegan crepes! Yuuuum!

Adam's parents also came into town from May 13th-17th, so for the days that overlapped with when Jennifer was in town, we headed to Celestial Seasonings for a tea tour, and strolled around Pearl St. (including a stop at the Boulder Bookstore).  Amy, Kevin, and the girls came through as well for an overnighter on their trip to the east coast for a family reunion.

Tea time!

Hairnets!

Looking good, right?

Had to get a photo with the bear!

I agree!

=D Such fun magnets!

It was Mother's Day Weekend, so we also got to enjoy ice cream cake

Made breakfast for the girls- fruit salad and egg & sausage casserole. They slumber partied it up in the living room and we also played out at the playground for a bit.

Serenna making me "pizza and french fries"

I love how I couldn't get certain options because they weren't available =D

Can you tell that the sun is right in our eyes?

The whole family, plus Rosie

One of my friends told me about a cooking demo at the culinary school, so we checked it out

This is from the mirror above to cooking demo (pork sliders with slaw)

A couple of my co-workers, Heather (left) and Liz (right)

Super tasty dessert treats!

Cuba also came along the trip and she made Adam super happy- we had several days out at Chatauqua so she could run around and play fetch!

Margaret reassuring Cuba that even though she might restrict us from going to certain places, we love her anyway!

Hugs and cuddles!

On one of the days, Margaret and I picked up cupcakes at Tee & Cakes (probably after we checked out the kitchen and spice stores on Pearl St.)

After this set of visitors, we then went to Idaho (see the previous trip post) but after coming back from Idaho, we had more visitors! Sarah and Jeff were on their RV roadtrip and made a stop to see us! Super fun! I'll post those photos in the next posting!!

Idaho Part III (Days 2-3)

The rest of our trip was totally great. It was such a relaxing weekend trip and McCall was the perfect setting. Since it was a little drizzly for most of the weekend, we spent the weekend napping, reading, watching Downton Abbey and The Help, grocery shopping and cooking, watching the den of baby foxes outside, and taking short walks when weather permitted.

Jill and her mother Julie also took Adam and I around town so we could see the lake, the lodges, and the cute little downtown. Everyone in McCall was incredibly nice and went out of their way to welcome us as visitors (being sure to ask what our plans were for the weekend, providing recommendations, and telling us to be sure and visit again when the weather was better- what great customer service everywhere we went!!). Jill had a good laugh when one of the employees at the deli in the local market asked if I thought it would rain or snow that night. I responded saying, "Well, if there is precipitation, I would venture to guess it might just be rain!" =D Haha.

Uncle Adam and Luc at the Sushi Bar. Luc would rather eat his hand than a spicy tuna roll!

Giraffe hats are fun!

Luc and mom

Luc seems to like the burp cloths I made him!

This was our weekend- lots of lounging

And a little more lounging...

Who doesn't like to relax?

Luc loves to chew on his right hand!

This is a little fuzzy, but I thought it was so cute...Luc sticking out his lower lip and his daddy doing the same

Aunt Jill & Luc

We had a den of foxes right outside the house- there was a mother fox and we counted seven babies. This little guy was standing watch while his siblings were running around playing and wrestling

Another baby fox joining his sibling

Luc asking why Aunt Emily is so annoying and won't leave him alone (I watched some of the videos...and OMG, no wonder why he was overwhelmed by me...I am singing, clapping, and talking a mile a minute "Luuuuc Luc Luc, Happy Happy Sad, Luc Luc Luc!" Hahaha!)

Calm tummy time with mom

Gorgeous snowy mountains above McCall

So cute!

Last photo before we headed back to SLC. Luc is crying saying "Nooo! I don't want to sit in my carseat for 8 hours! I want to stay here! In my cute "shoe" socks!"

Quick pull over on the side of the road

Love this face!
