
While we were seeing the terra cotta warriors, we had to make a stop to call Adam's mom on her birthday (January 1) and wish her a happy new year from Xi'an!

In Beijing we took a ride in bicycle rickshaw through the narrow alleys of the hutong.

This is a photo of a jade lychee sculpture. It actually looked like real lychee- but with a very hefty price tag. I can't remember how much it was, but I am thinking it was around $1000 or so!

I remember when I used to think about visiting China, I always though of roads filled to the brim with bicycles. There are still a lot of bicycles around, but nothing like the pictures I used to see in the 1980s and 1990s.
